Southern Italy tour in 2022
Why go (back) on a tour?
Rita and I have been on a few Rick Steves Tours and have met some wonderful people, tried new foods and enjoyed the history, art and culture that a tour provides. Plus with limited vacation time, a guide saves you time standing in lines! And you know what you are looking at without having your nose in a book the whole trip.
With Spain being in our rearview now, it was time to pick the next destination....Italy. Yes, we had done the Venice, Florence and Rome some years ago and often refer to that as the best vacation ever. Rita got to pick Spain, so it was my turn.
I was stationed in Napoli from 1984-1987 and thought it would be a kick to go back and know what I was seeing. Plus I LOVE Italian food and art. This seemed like a win-win. So when the tours came out in July of 2019, we started planning for 2020 for my birthday. You can find the information on the tour on the RS site here.
While we would have been comfortable to attempt most of the places on our own, logistically some are just a bit difficult with public transit and with us both still working having the time saved figuring out how to get from point A to point B and not waiting in line at museums just makes sense. So here we go!
